ISC2 CCSP Bootcamp Overview

This CCSP bootcamp is a six-day, instructor-led path to the ISC2 Certified Cloud Security Professional credential, the vendor-neutral certification for people who secure cloud environments at an architectural level rather than administer one provider's console. The week works through the full body of knowledge: cloud reference architecture and secure design, the data lifecycle with encryption, tokenization, masking and key management, securing platform and infrastructure including the management plane and data centre resilience, application security across the secure SDLC and identity, day to day security operations, and the legal, risk and compliance obligations that follow data into someone else's datacentre.

CCSP is delivered by Computerized Adaptive Testing: three hours, 100 to 150 items, multiple choice plus advanced item types, with a passing grade of 700 out of 1000. It is compliant with ANSI/ISO/IEC Standard 17024 and approved by the U.S. Department of Defense under DoDM 8140.03. The camp runs live with an instructor across six days, the final day an optional Saturday review session covering mock exams and test-taking strategy.

• Cloud Platform & Infrastructure Security (17%): the physical environment, network and communications, compute, virtualization, storage and the management plane; designing a secure data centre across logical, physical and environmental design and resilience; analysing risks including cloud vulnerabilities, threats and attacks and the treatment strategies for them; planning and implementing security controls and audit mechanisms; and business continuity and disaster recovery planning against defined RTO and RPO targets.
• Cloud Security Operations (17%): building and running physical and logical infrastructure for a cloud environment including hardware security modules and TPMs, secure by default configuration and management plane tooling; access controls for local and remote access, secure network configuration and network security controls including firewalls, IDS, IPS, network security groups, bastion hosts and segmentation; and operating system hardening.
• Cloud Application Security (16%): application security training and awareness including the OWASP Top 10, ASVS, the API Top 10, the Top 10 for Large Language Model Applications and SANS Top 25; the secure SDLC and applying it against cloud-specific risks; threat modeling with STRIDE, DREAD, ATASM and PASTA; software assurance and validation across SAST, DAST, IAST and software composition analysis; using verified secure software and managing the supply chain; cloud application architecture including WAFs, API gateways, sandboxing, microservices, containers, Docker and Kubernetes; and designing identity and access management with federated identity, SSO, MFA and CASB.
• Legal, Risk and Compliance (13%): the legal requirements and unique risks that arise in cloud environments, risk management and analysis, and audit management and cloud compliance.
