Azure AI Apps & Agents Developer Certification Bootcamp (AI-103, AI-901)
Earn two Microsoft AI certifications in one accelerated week. This 5-day bootcamp covers AI-901 and AI-103, taking you from AI concepts and responsible AI through to building generative AI apps and production agents on Microsoft Foundry: RAG, tool calling, multi-agent orchestration, computer vision, text analysis and information extraction. You sit both exams on site while you attend, earning Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals and Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Apps and Agents Developer Associate. AI-103 is the current exam that replaced the retired AI-102. Taught live by Microsoft Certified Trainers in Sarasota, Florida or online, with both exam vouchers, a retake voucher per exam and 90-day lab access included.

Course Description
Azure AI Apps and Agents Developer (AI-103) Bootcamp Overview
This Azure AI developer bootcamp is an accelerated, instructor-led path to two Microsoft certifications in one week: Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals and Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Apps and Agents Developer Associate. Over five hands-on days you build generative AI applications and agents on Microsoft Foundry, covering retrieval-augmented generation, tool and function calling, conversation memory, multi-agent orchestration, and the monitoring, safety and governance that production agents need. You will sit both the AI-901 exam and the AI-103 exam on site before you leave.
AI-103 Replaced AI-102, and What That Means for You
Microsoft retired AI-102: Designing and Implementing a Microsoft Azure AI Solution on 30 June 2026. Its successor is AI-103: Developing AI Apps and Agents on Azure, which leads to the new Azure AI Apps and Agents Developer Associate certification. If you were studying for AI-102, this is the camp that gets you current. The rebuild is substantial rather than cosmetic: agentic solutions grew from a 5 to 10 percent slice of AI-102 into the centre of the exam, and the older custom-model and knowledge-mining material has given way to Foundry-based development.
Who This AI-103 Course Is For
This AI-103 training is built for Azure AI engineers and developers who build, manage and deploy agents and AI solutions on Microsoft Foundry, and who work alongside solution architects, data scientists, DevOps engineers and cloud security engineers. It is an associate-level developer exam: Microsoft expects experience developing apps using Python and familiarity with general AI, generative AI and Azure services. The AI-901 portion at the start of the week covers the concepts, so you do not need a fundamentals certification first, but you do need to be able to write code.
What You'll Learn in the AI-901 Training
The AI-901 course sets up the concepts and the Foundry tooling the rest of the week builds on:
- Identify AI concepts and capabilities (40-45%): the six principles of responsible AI, how generative AI models work, choosing and deploying an appropriate model, and recognising common workloads across generative and agentic AI, text analysis, speech, computer vision and information extraction.
- Implement AI solutions by using Microsoft Foundry (55-60%): writing effective system and user prompts, deploying models in the Foundry portal, building a lightweight chat client with the Foundry SDK, creating and testing a single-agent solution, and building text, speech, vision and information-extraction applications.
What You'll Learn in the AI-103 Training
The AI-103 course is the core of the week and follows Microsoft's five exam skill areas:
- Plan and manage an Azure AI solution (25-30%): choosing models and Foundry services for generation, grounding, vector search and agent workflows; designing infrastructure and deployment options; wiring Foundry projects into CI/CD; managing quotas, scaling and cost; monitoring performance, drift and grounding quality; and implementing responsible AI through safety filters, guardrails, evaluators and audit trails.
- Implement generative AI and agentic solutions (30-35%): deploying and consuming language and multimodal models, implementing RAG, designing multistep reasoning pipelines, defining agent roles, goals and tool schemas, integrating retrieval, function calling and conversation memory, orchestrating multi-agent solutions with approval controls, and tuning prompts, parameters and observability.
- Implement computer vision solutions (10-15%): generating and editing images and video from prompts, multimodal captioning and visual question answering, Azure Content Understanding for visual analysis, and safety controls including detecting prompt injection embedded in images.
- Implement text analysis solutions (10-15%): entity, topic and summary extraction with structured JSON output, sentiment and safety detection, translation with Azure Translator, and speech to text and text to speech as an agent modality.
- Implement information extraction solutions (10-15%): ingesting and indexing documents, images, audio and video, configuring semantic, hybrid and vector search for grounding, OCR and layout analysis pipelines, and connecting retrieval directly to agent tools.
AI-103 Prerequisites
There is no certification prerequisite for AI-103. AI-901 is not required to earn the Azure AI Apps and Agents Developer Associate credential, so the two exams in this camp earn two separate certifications rather than one. What Microsoft does expect for AI-103 is real development experience: Python, plus familiarity with general AI, generative AI and Azure services. The exam runs 120 minutes and is currently offered in English only. Come able to read and write code comfortably, because this camp moves at developer pace.
