Eight years ago, Microsoft terminated their relationship with Pearson Vue testing. Without doubt – many of us in the Microsoft exam and certification testing space were completely shocked by this decision. Microsoft gave exclusive access to Prometric to administer Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) exams. Many test center administrators have suggested Prometric faced challenges with supporting software and clients. Indirectly, the press release suggest these complaints led Microsoft to return to Pearson Vue.
On June 2nd, 2014 – Pearson Vue sent an email to Microsoft Channel Partners announcing the delivery of Microsoft exams through their network starting on September 4th, 2014. Pearson Vue will continue to provide updates on the move in the upcoming weeks. The announcement suggest existing Vue testing centers will not require any changes to contracts in order to support the Microsoft exams.
With the addition of Microsoft, Pearson Vue will now offer testing for every major IT vendor.
